The Federation used the mono-eyes and Zeonic-style machines for their many of their newest machines after 0083 (And for the Titans once they needed more MS than the very costly GM Quel). Mwulf wrote:because if MS development led to the Federation discarding visors for mono-eyes by Gryps, then there's little logical reason for them to completely backtrack to the old GMs by the end of the 2nd Gryps/Neo Zeon war. I'd assume there's some technical reason they made so many Zeon-esque looking suits if that kind of bias was present. Especially given I recall it being mentioned somewhere that the Hizack wasn't popular with the Titans because it looked too much like a Zaku(and thus, a Zeon product). The closest the AEUG has is the Rick Diases and the Dijeh prototype.Įven considering the number of suits designed by Scirocco(who has less reason to care what his suits look like, as opposed to their performance), the Titans' number of Zeon-looking suits seems awfully high considering their public purpose(hunting down Zeon remnants), and their private bias(anti-spacenoid racism). The Earth Federation has a few mono-eyed MS, but other than the Gabaldy Beta and Hizack, they're all seized Zeon property. ![]() ![]() One thing I wondered while looking through the mobile suits in Zeta: is there a distinct advantage that the Zeon-esque mono-eye conveys? Other than the GM Quel and the Gundam models, every MS fielded by the Titans is designed with a mono-eye.
